Mosquito Control in South Florida

Mosquito Control for Homes and Businesses

Mosquitoes can breed in as little as half a cup of water, so saucers, gutters and bromeliads keep the bites coming. Toro finds where they breed on your property, treats the yard and those breeding sites, and gets you back outside with a one-time or recurring service.

How it works

  1. Free inspectionWe inspect the outside of your home or business and find where mosquitoes breed and hide: birdbaths, fountains, gutters, rain barrels, pool covers, flower pots, ponds and shady areas.
  2. Yard and breeding-site treatmentWe apply a barrier treatment made with plant oils (rosemary oil, geraniol and peppermint oil) to the shrubs and plants where adults rest, and treat breeding sites with larvicide granules and growth regulators.
  3. Ongoing protectionChoose a one-time event treatment or our 3-month plan, and we show you how to cut standing water. If the bugs come back, so will Toro, at no additional cost to you.

TORO GUARD Mosquito Protection: Choose Your Plan

  • One-time event treatment: for a party, barbecue or any outdoor event at your home.
  • 3-month plan: 4 treatments, one every 3 weeks, especially from March to November when mosquitoes are most active. If the weather gets in the way, you can move a treatment up.
  • Source reduction advice: we point out the containers, gutters and plants that hold water, and the vegetation to manage, so fewer mosquitoes hatch between visits.

Between visits, follow the Florida Department of Health's Drain and Cover advice: drain buckets, toys, coolers and pool covers after rain, and empty and scrub birdbaths and pet bowls once or twice a week. For other pests, see our residential services and lawn spray.

Mosquito Control: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does mosquito control cost?

It depends on the size of your yard, how many breeding sites it has and whether you want a one-time event treatment or the 3-month plan. The inspection is free, so you see what we found and get a quote before any work begins, plus $25 off your first service.

What is included, and how often do you come?

Our service includes the barrier treatment of shrubs and plants and treatment of breeding sites with larvicide and growth regulators. The 3-month plan includes 4 treatments, one every 3 weeks. Mosquitoes can go from egg to adult in about 7 to 10 days, so regular treatments and less standing water work together.

Do I need to prepare my yard?

Our mosquito service is an outdoor treatment. Before the visit, empty buckets, toys and plant saucers that hold water, and unlock gates so we can reach every side of the property. For an event, book the one-time treatment ahead of the date, and we will tell you if anything else needs to be ready.

What about my kids and pets?

We choose the products for your property and apply them according to the label, including how long people and pets should stay off treated areas. Tell us about children, pets, play areas and fishponds during the inspection, and we will plan the treatment around them.

Do you treat businesses, and does county spraying replace your service?

Yes, we treat homes and commercial properties across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and the Keys. County mosquito control does area-wide inspections and treatments, and in Miami-Dade and Broward you can call 311 to request a county inspection. Our service treats your own property, on your schedule.
