Whitefly Control for Ficus Hedges, Palms and Trees
Whiteflies suck sap from ficus hedges, palms and trees, leaving yellow leaves, bare branches and sticky honeydew on your car and patio. Toro inspects your landscape, identifies the whitefly and catches the infestation early, when it is easier to contain.

Which whitefly is on your plants?
- Ficus whitefly: tiny, with a pale yellow body and white wings with two grayish-brown markings. It feeds under ficus leaves and can leave a hedge bare. It was first found in the U.S., in Florida, in 2007.
- Rugose spiraling whitefly: about three times larger than common whiteflies. It lays its eggs in white waxy spirals on palms, gumbo limbo, avocado and other trees, and was first reported in Florida in Miami-Dade in 2009.
- Bondar's nesting whitefly: attacks ficus, hibiscus, guava and citrus.

Call at the first signs. A ficus hedge can lose its leaves after 2 to 3 months of infestation, and repeated defoliation can kill it. Whiteflies also move between neighboring properties, so a treated hedge can be reinfested from next door. Our inspection looks for those early signs. Whitefly Control: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does whitefly treatment cost?
It depends on which whitefly you have, how many hedges, palms or trees are affected and how large they are. The inspection is free, so you get a clear plan and a quote before any work begins, plus $25 off your first service.
Will my hedge or palm recover?
UF/IFAS notes that whiteflies do not usually kill large, healthy trees, shrubs and palms, while young, newly planted or stressed plants are more at risk. Bare ficus hedges usually grow their leaves back. Results are not instant: new leaves take time, and honeydew and sooty mold usually wear off once the whiteflies are under control.
Should I cut back or remove my plants before you come?
No. UF/IFAS advises that you usually do not need to prune or remove infested plants. Just make sure we can reach your hedges, palms and trees. If you trim, leave the clippings on your property or bag them, so the whiteflies do not travel to other yards.
What about my kids and pets?
We choose the treatment for your plants and apply products according to the label, including how long people and pets should stay away from treated areas. Tell us about children, pets, fishponds and any fruit trees you harvest during the inspection, and we will plan the treatment around them.
Do you treat HOA common areas and commercial properties?
Yes. We treat homes, condos, HOA common areas and commercial landscapes across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and the Keys. UF/IFAS notes that HOA common areas and commercial properties need a hired pest control company, so your association or property manager can call us directly.
