Pest Control That Protects Your Stock
Rats and mice contaminate far more product than they eat, and every dock door, pallet and carton gives pests a way into your building. Toro builds a program for your facility with five levels of rodent protection, from the property line to the inside of your warehouse.

Pest Risks for Warehouses in South Florida
Every inbound trailer is a possible way in. Pallets and cartons arrive from many suppliers, dock doors stay open for hours, and the gaps around dock seals, levelers and pipe entries let roof rats and Norway rats walk in at night. UF/IFAS notes that Norway rats in Florida are most common along sea coasts and canals, thrive where garbage is not stored properly and burrow under slabs and rubbish. Roof rats nest in stacks of materials stored on the ground, so idle pallets and overgrown fence lines matter as much as the building itself.
Weather adds pressure. South Florida’s wet season runs from about mid-May to mid-October and brings most of the year’s rain. UF/IFAS warns that heavy rain drives cockroaches, spiders and rodents indoors, and that flooding displaces rodents and wildlife. After a storm, watch your docks, perimeter and any water-damaged stock closely, and call us at the first sign of new activity.
Where We Focus in a Warehouse
Docks and Receiving
We check door seals, dock levelers and the gaps around them for rodent entry, and look at incoming cartons and pallets for roaches and droppings.
Racking and Storage Aisles
We look along walls and under bottom racks for droppings, gnaw marks and damaged packaging, and check the interior traps that cover these runs.
Property Line and Exterior
We treat rodent burrows along the fence line and service the exterior bait stations that stop rats before they reach your walls.
Break Rooms and Trash Areas
Food scraps, vending machines and dumpsters feed roaches, ants and rodents. We inspect them and list the sanitation fixes in your report.
What Auditors Expect
If your facility holds food, FDA’s current good manufacturing practice rules (21 CFR Part 117) reach beyond the storage floor to the grounds, the building and the way product is stored. Among other points, they ask you to:
- remove litter and waste, store equipment properly and cut weeds or grass near the building, where they can attract, breed or shelter pests
- provide adequate screening or other protection against pests where needed
- store and transport food under conditions that protect it against contamination and against deterioration of the food and its container
Our report of conducive conditions follows the same logic: it shows your team where the building and grounds give pests a foothold, so you can fix them before the auditor arrives.
Warehouse & Distribution Center Pest Control: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does warehouse pest control cost?
It depends on the size of the facility, the pests involved, the number of bait stations and traps it needs and how often we service it. The inspection is free, so you get a program and a quote before any work begins, plus $25 off the first service.
Which pests do you cover in a warehouse?
Rats and mice first, with the five levels of protection, plus roaches, ants, spiders and pigeons. UF/IFAS notes that cockroaches breed prolifically in corrugated cardboard boxes, so we pay close attention to receiving and storage areas. Termite and bird control are available too.
Can you give us documentation for audits?
Yes. Your program includes a report outlining conducive conditions, such as sanitation and structural problems, so your team knows what to fix. If you hold food, FDA rules require effective measures to exclude pests from holding areas. We also offer quality assurance audits and employee training.
Can you work around our shifts and deliveries?
Yes. Tell us your receiving hours, peak days and restricted areas, and we plan visits around them with your operations or facility manager. If you see new activity between regular visits, we come back free of charge, and Toro responds within 24 hours, guaranteed.
Do you service more than one facility?
Yes. We serve warehouses and distribution centers of every size across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and the Keys, and we build a program for each location, because a busy cross-dock and a quiet storage site do not need the same service. Hablamos Español with your crews.
